The city of Paestum was a greek colony founded around the end of the 7th century. The archeological site lies in the province of Salerno.
The three temples of Paestum are very well preserved and together with the museum represent an important greek testimony of the greek colonists in Campania region.
The museum is mainly famous for the the burial monument named Tomb of the Diver where inside is represented an enigmatic scene of a lonely young man diving into a stream of water(about 470 BC),
I recommend to visit together with Paestum also the city of Salerno and a Mozzarella factory.
